The City of El Paso Public Library is debuting a new book collection called Blue Collar Collection dedicated to helping hard-working El Pasoans improve their job skills and knowledge.
Blue Collar Collection features books and resources on skilled labor such as heavy equipment operator, electrician, welding, home inspector, construction, plumbing, and much more.
“The Blue Collar Collection is one way the El Paso Public Library aims to assistance the local workforce and support the City’s vision of creating a vibrant regional economy,” said El Paso Public Library Director Norma Martinez. “Anyone who is currently involved in or thinking about becoming a skilled technician is encouraged to check-out the collection.”
The materials were purchased through a Texas Book Festival grant and aim to help individuals find out more about technical trades and learn advanced skills. The books are available for loan at all branch libraries with a free El Paso Public Library card.
