City offers events, tips for Easter, Earth Day

The City of El Paso is hosting a variety of family-friendly events and activities for Earth Day and leading into Easter weekend.

The El Paso Zoo, the Parks and Recreation Department, the El Paso Public Library, the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department and the Environmental Services Department are each hosting an assortment of fun activities.

Most events are free and include, Earth Day Celebrations, Easter Egg Hunts, free swimming and much more.

In addition, the City encourages the public to spend time outdoors by visiting City parks. Easter weekend is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year to be outdoors with thousands of people using City parks to celebrate.

The Parks and Recreation Department asks the public to keep our parks clean by picking up their trash. The Parks and Recreation Department provides trash bins but encourages park visitors to bring their own trash bag(s), and if they bring pets to the park, make sure to keep them on a leash and clean up after them as well.

City officials are also encouraging everyone to use public transportation to get to and from these events. Residents can park at one of the Sun Metro Transfer Centers across the City and ride the bus, take the Brio or ride the El Paso Streetcar.

For more information on public transit options, Sun Metro’s website.

A complete list of events, dates and times is posted on the “Easter and Earth Day Events” banner on the City of El Paso website.
