City partners with Walmart, local grocery stores to expand vaccine registration outreach

The City of El Paso Department of Public Health’s Education Taskforce announced Monday the expansion its outreach efforts to register individuals for the COVID-19 vaccine and increase a community awareness about the ongoing need to protect themselves against the virus.

“The Education Taskforce has been out in the community providing valuable information and education since the onset of the pandemic,” said Humberto Rojas, Education Taskforce Lead.

“Our team is moving throughout all City and County areas to make sure residents receive assistance with vaccine registration and have the resources and knowledge needed to keep safe.”

According to city officials, members of the Education Taskforce have registered more than 4,300 individuals through their outreach efforts at the COVID Clinic at 220 South Stanton, senior centers, grocery stores and door-to-door engagement across the community.

“The taskforce will continue making rounds at grocery stores, outdoor markets, places of worship and other locations over the next several weeks,” officials added.

The team will be available for vaccine registration and information at the following Walmart locations beginning today, Monday, March 29:
