City’s International Bridges Department Rebrands Bridge Toll Program

El Paso International Bridges is rebranding the Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) program as E-Fast Pass.

According to EPIB officials, the move is to, “to raise awareness and increase participation” in the program.

“The E-Fast Pass new name and branding highlights the program’s purpose – to improve the efficiency of toll collection at the City’s International Bridges,” said Managing Director of Aviation and International Bridges, Monica Lombraña. “The efforts are part of a strategy to increase awareness and participation of our cross-border commuters in El Paso and Juárez.”

Commuters can sign up for an E-Fast Pass in person at the Zaragoza International Bridge Toll Plaza Office or online and, coming soon, at the One Stop Shop downtown.

A driver’s license, email address, phone number, vehicle description, and payment are the items needed to obtain an E-Fast Pass. Once signed up a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag will be mailed and must be applied to the vehicle’s windshield.

A vehicle with the RFID tag can pull up to a toll booth, the RFID tag is read, the fee is deducted from the account, the lane opens and the vehicle may then proceed.

All lanes of the Zaragoza and Stanton Street bridges accept vehicle tolls through the automated system, and a dedicated lane at each bridge is reserved for drivers who use the system to expedite the payment process and reduce time spent waiting in line.

For more information or to sign up now, residents can visit the International Bridges website.
