Officials with the City of El Paso announced Wednesday evening that they, in collaboration with Region 19 and the Texas Military Department Mobile Testing Team (TMD-MTT), will be opening a sixth COVID-19 testing site on Thursday, October 22.
“At the ongoing request of El Paso Mayor Dee Margo and the Office of Emergency Management, the Office of the Governor and the Texas Department of Emergency Management have been providing the necessary assets and resources to expand much needed testing throughout El Paso,” city officials added.
The free drive-thru testing site is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning tomorrow, Thursday, October 22. The site is located at the Region 19 Kenworthy Complex located at 9776 Kenworthy.
The new site will be in addition to the Eastside Sports Complex (14380 Montwood), which was opened today, Oct. 21 and providing tests from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
No appointments are needed. Testing is free and available for anyone 5 years or older with or without symptoms. Test results will be provided via email within 2-3 days. For assistance regarding test results email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (833) 213-0643.
The Texas Department of Emergency Management contractor HONU also offers COVID-19 testing at the following locations:
- Nations Tobin Recreation Center; 8831 Railroad Dr., El Paso, TX
- El Paso Community College Valle Verde Campus; 919 Hunter Dr., El Paso, TX
- SISD’s Student Activities Complex; 1300 Joe Battle Blvd., El Paso, TX
- UTEP Schuster 1 Parking Lot off Shuster Avenue at the Spur 1966 Roundabout, on the south side of the complex, El Paso, TX
The results from the State sites within the City will be provided via email within 3-5 days and the public is reminded to check their junk/spam email folders for the emailed test results. If they do not have an email, they will receive a phone call.
