City, Sun Metro release Labor Day Schedules

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, City Hall and all municipal offices will be closed on Monday, September 5.

City Hall will re-open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6 and the regularly scheduled City Council meeting will begin at 8 a.m.

Sun Metro’s fixed-route and LIFT services will run on a Sunday schedule on Monday, September 5, in observation of the Labor Day holiday.

Brio service as well as Routes 90, 91, 92, and 93 will not be operating on the holiday as these routes do not normally run on Sundays or holidays.

The administrative offices and Transit Operations Center, at 10151 Montana; the Eastside Transfer Center ticket office, at 1165 Sunmount; the Five Points Transfer Center ticket office, at 2830 Montana; and the Downtown Santa Fe Transfer Center ticket office, at 601 Santa Fe, will be closed.

All Sun Metro services and facilities will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, September 6.

Other Regional Closures

The University of Texas at El Paso will be closed Monday, Sept. 5, in observance of Labor Day. Classes and regular hours of operation will resume Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The Socorro Independent School District will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5 in observance of the 2016 Labor Day holiday. Classes will resume and offices will re-open on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) will be closed Monday, Sept. 5, in observance of Labor Day. The closure includes Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso clinics and the TTUHSC El Paso libraries. Classes and regular hours of operation will resume Tuesday, Sept. 6.

El Paso Community College (EPCC) will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2016 in observance of Labor Day. On Tuesday, September 6, 2016, EPCC will hold Professional Development. No classes will be held until 5:00 p.m. Classes scheduled at 5:00 p.m. of after will be held. College offices will be closed, but faculty and staff will report for Professional Development training. All classes and office hours will resume as scheduled on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
