In celebration of Cohen’s future, the City of El Paso invites to the public to come say ‘goodbye’ to the stadium and ‘hello’ to the Cohen Entertainment District by taking a selfie and sharing it using the hastag ‘#Reimagining Cohen.’
“Cohen is being converted into a vibrant retail and recreation destination with a thriving open public space that will attract sports aficionados, families, business travelers, and outdoor enthusiasts,” city officials shared via email. “The masterplan for the 48-acre site was developed as part of an extensive public outreach process.”
The event will include selfie stations, live entertainment, information about the project, and 25-cent hotdogs in commemoration of the stadium’s baseball heydays.
Selfie Day at Cohen will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the site’s parking lot off of Cohen Avenue near its intersection with Kenworth Street in Northeast El Paso.
The stadium is located at 9700 Gateway North Boulevard near Cohen Avenue.
Razing of the stadium is scheduled for this spring.
