City Wins Achievement of Excellence in Procurement
The Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing Department has received the 2019 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award (AEP) from the National Procurement Institute (NPI) for the sixth year in a row and is 1 of 3 of the largest cities in Texas to do so.
“El Pasoans can be proud of the City’s Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing Department and the great accomplishments of our team,” said Director Bruce D. Collins.
“The AEP validates the innovation and leadership our City gives to our community every day. The staff strives to excel in all we do and receiving this award for the sixth year in a row demonstrates the high standards we maintain.”
The award is earned by public and non-profit organizations that obtain a high application score based on innovation, professionalism, e-procurement procedures, productivity, and leadership.
This program encourages the development of excellence, as well as continuous organizational improvement.
The City of El Paso joins Austin and San Antonio as one of three large cities in Texas and one of only 67 cities in the United States and Canada to receive this award.
