Officials with the City of El Paso’s Environmental Services Department (ESD) are inviting community members to join in on the fun for the 9th annual Earth Day Celebration from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at San Jacinto Plaza.
“ESD’s Earth Day Celebration is a free, fun-filled family event aimed to educate the community about different ways to protect and conserve our local environment and the planet,” officials shared via a news release.
ESD has partnered with great local vendors and other city departments to celebrate Earth Day. Attendees can learn about water conservation from EP Water, enjoy interactive games from TopGolf, or donate blood to help save lives.
The celebration also includes a great line-up of local entertainment from F.M. Junkies, R.C. Manner, and the crowd favorite, mascot dance-off.
Also new for this year, Environmental Services partnered with the Texas Senate District 29 Environmental Excellence Recognition Program for the program’s inaugural award ceremony scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at the El Paso Community Foundation Room, at 333 North Oregon across from San Jacinto Plaza. The ceremony will kick off ESD’s Earth Day festivities.
The event will also feature an exciting kid’s zone area, delicious options from food service trucks, and an art show made from recycled material.
The winner of ESD’s Recycle Right PSA Video Contest will also be recognized and awarded.
