City’s Museums, Downtown Art and Farmers Market to Participate in KidsPalooza

The City of El Paso Museum of Art and Museum of History, as well as the Downtown Art and Famers Market, will participate in the 10th annual El Paso Symphony Orchestra KidsPalooza scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, in Downtown El Paso.

Both museums are hosting special activities. KidsPalooza is supported through the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) KickstART program that provides funding for festivals located within the Downtown Arts District.

The event brings about 20,000 people to the Downtown Arts District.

“We wanted to offer special programming for the thousands of families who will be downtown enjoying KidsPalooza,” said Director of Museums and Cultural Affairs Tracey Jerome. “This is a great opportunity for families to visit our museums and shop with our talented local artists and craftsmen.”

Schedule of events by the Art and History museum, as well as the Downtown Art and Farmers Market:

The El Paso Museum of Art

Offers hands on activities from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Families can explore collage techniques often used by artists featured in The Harmon and Harriet Kelley Collection of African-American Art: Works on Paper. Visitors can pick up an activity guide or scavenger hunt to explore the museum’s galleries.

El Paso Museum of History

Visitors can make their own space creation using recycled materials from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The digital wall will be open for visitors to learn about El Paso’s history or capture memories.

The Downtown Art and Farmers Market

Extended hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Anthony Street. More than 70 local artists, craftsmen, and produce and food vendors will be selling handmade art and food items. Visit the teaching artist booths for free arts and crafts activities and the garden art workshops.
