The El Paso Department of Animal Services is happy to announce that 171 shelter animals were adopted during the department’s “Clear the Shelters” adoption event this past Saturday, July 23.
Clear the Shelters is part of nationwide campaign that includes participation from animal shelters across the country for a one day pet adoption initiative.
This campaign aims to connect animals in need of a home with loving new families.
Thanks to the community’s support, Animal Services’ Clear the Shelters adoption event was a huge success with many of the department’s kennels being left empty at the end of the day.
“The summer months are always the busiest with no space to house additional animals, which is why an event like Saturday’s can have such a life-saving impact,” said Kurt Fenstermacher, Interim Animal Services Director. “People came out in droves to help us save animals, and I’m always thankful for the community’s support during these mega adoption events.”
