Dusty Coleman’s solo home run in the top of the ninth inning led the El Paso Chihuahuas to a 2-1 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers Saturday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
El Paso’s Jerry Keel pitched five innings and allowed only one run in a no-decision. It was the third consecutive game that the Chihuahuas’ starter went five innings or more and allowed two runs or less.
Brad Wieck, Kazuhisa Makita and Trey Wingenter each threw a scoreless inning in El Paso’s win.
Catcher Francisco Mejia went 3-for-4 with a double, his first three-hit game for the Chihuahuas. Forrestt Allday went 2-for-4 with a walk and a game-tying RBI single off switch-pitcher Pat Venditte.
Saturday’s win was El Paso’s third straight victory.
