  • Commenting on all content will be cut off 24 hours after the post has gone live.
  • Any posts with direct threats to other persons posting here will result in a warning from the Forum Administrator.
  • Should the behavior continue, another warning will be issued.
  • On the third and final warning, the person posting will have their full user name and partial email listed in a response, and then they will be banned from both posting and the Herald-Post site.
  • This decision will be final.

TOS Update 4/12/2019

Due to several direct threats against our columnists, forum administrators and ownership, Forum administrators will be identified only by the generic title ‘Forum Administrator’ or ‘Senior Forum Administrator. No names and or other information about the administrators will be given out by email,  phone or message.

Also some biographies have been removed from the site for the safety of our contributors.

All previous terms of use for the comments section continue as stated below.

Please note:

Commenting on the El Paso Herald Post is a privilege and not a right.  By visiting our page and then commenting you agree to our terms below. The same goes for any Opinion pieces, Letters to the Editor, Open Letters and comments on our message line.

Please keep the comments clean, on-topic and relevant.  All comments, Opinion pieces, Letters to the Editor, Open Letters and comments on our message line are archived for posterity as a picture of popular opinion at the time.

Each person is responsible for only his or her own posts. If another person breaks rules, you may ignore them or report the post to the forum administrators, but you may not use it as an excuse to break rules yourself.

At times we will allow certain threads to continue to progress, and they may have foul language and other phrases that may offend.  Again, those are the responsibility of the poster – and may still be authorized by the forum administrator.

Volunteer forum administrators help us manage and enforce the rules. The administrators will read every message, but if one crosses the line after approval, we they rely on members to report problem posts that they encounter.

All posts will be placed in moderation until approved.  PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: Email addresses, IP addresses and user names will be archived – but all comments, names and emails are public, in some instances they may be viewed by other persons commenting, so please watch what you post.

ALSO: Unless the person posting/emailing/commenting is a source in a story, there is no expectation of privacy on those submissions, especially when voluntarily posting on a public forum.  As part of the the agreement to comment on the stories, users must provide their email address.

The point of moderation is not to limit discussion, promote or suppress points of view, or any other secret agenda. The goal of moderation is to keep the comments enjoyable and free from comments that detract from the experiences of our users.

By commenting on the stories, galleries, videos, and any content on the El Paso Herald Post, the person commenting accepts these terms of use.
