Community asked to help name new Animal Services Mascot

Another cute and cuddly dog has entered the El Paso Animal Services Center, but this one is not a lost or stray pup.

Department officials announced late Tuesday that they have a new mascot that will soon join them in educating the community on animal welfare topics and all the services provided by Animal Services. There is just one thing this pup needs; a name.

Animal Services is currently asking the community to help them choose between three names: Franklin, Sunny, and Wilson.

To cast a vote, residents can visit the El Paso Animal Services Facebook page, where there is a link to the poll. Voting will end on September 16.

The name of the new mascot, and the mascot itself, will be unveiled at a special “Mutts & Mascots” adoption event on Saturday, September 21.

The event will feature $1 adoptions for all Animal Services pets, along with several mascot presentations to include the microchipping and vaccination of our new mascot, and a dance contest.

For more information on El Paso Animal Services, visit them online or in person at 5001 Fred Wilson.
