Community Meetings Scheduled This Week for Neighborhood Traffic Management Program

The City’s Street and Maintenance Department has scheduled a series of meetings related its Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP).

The NTMP was adopted by the City of El Paso to evaluate traffic concerns (speeding and cut-through traffic) in residential neighborhoods and, where applicable, recommend and build appropriate traffic calming solutions.

Through an NTMP application process initiated by residents and/or neighborhoods Havenrock, Beckenridge, Round Rock and Regulus drives were deemed eligible for traffic calming improvements.

Following this determination, City staff began developing recommendations for addressing their traffic concerns. Community meetings were held to present City staff recommendations, gather community input, and gain consensus on the improvements their streets.

A series of new meetings have been scheduled to notify the impacted neighborhoods that funding is now available to commence construction on their projects. Final designs for each street will be presented at the meetings.
