Communities across the country — and right here in the Paso del Norte Region — are relying on their non-profits like never before. Thanks to the generosity of our community and corporate donors, 216 local non-profits will have more resources to do the work they’re being called on to do.
“Each year, the Paso del Norte Community Foundation invites you to act, give and change our community for the better, raising approximately $6 million for local charities since 2016,” said Tracy Yellen, CEO of the Paso del Norte Community Foundation.
“This year that invitation came with the opportunity to show participating organizations how much we appreciate the work they are doing to ensure the resilience of our communities in a time unlike any other.”
Local non-profits benefited from hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes underwritten by generous corporate donors including Walmart, which provided a $300,000 matching grant.
“Walmart has been proud to serve El Paso and the Borderland for more than 20 years,” said Walmart Market Manager Kirk Behrans. “This community has shown incredible resilience, coming together in times of need with unity, compassion and love. This year’s Giving Day is just another example, and it’s truly inspiring to see such strength.”
The 5th Annual El Paso Giving Day raised $1,918,956 from 7,377 unique donations.
