Connect 10, TxDoT project detours, closures for Week of July 19

This week, the westbound frontage road on the Mesa Park Interchange Project is expected to be open by 6 p.m. Saturday, that means the return of the westbound I-10 on ramp from Executive.

Also, the second traffic switch on the TxDoT Transmountain project is scheduled for Monday morning, so motorists need to plan ahead.

Other work underway this week includes, overnight closures of US 54 will be in place again next week while crews continue placing girders for new overhead bridges to Juárez as part of the I-10 Connect Project.

Transmountain Project

Daily until further notice

  • Transmountain east and westbound between US-54 and Tom Mays State Park reduced to one lane in both directions. Bike lane closed.
  • Crews will be working on crossover construction in the median.

Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24
Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Transmountain between US-54 and Resler complete closure.
  • Crews will be installing concrete barriers.

Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23
7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Transmountain east and westbound between US-54 and Resler alternate lane and shoulder closures.
  • Crews will be placing concrete barriers and hot mix pavement.

Mesa Rehabilitation Project

Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23
Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Mesa southbound lanes between Mesa Hills and Festival complete closure.
  • Crews will be paving HMAC.
  • Continuous until further notice.
  • Mesa northbound between Baltimore and Brentwood reduced to one lane.
  • Mesa southbound between Sunland Park and Festival reduced to one lane.
  • Crews will be working on roadway rehabilitation.

Mesa Safety Improvement Project

Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Mesa and Mesa Hills intersection between Festival and Crown Point alternate lane closures.
  • Mesa and Baltimore intersection between Cincinnati and Gregory alternate lane closures.
  • Mesa and Argonaut intersection between Castellano and Montecillo alternate lane closures.
  • Montana and Krag intersection alternate lane closures.
  • North Loop and Hawkins intersection alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be working on traffic signal improvements.

Monday, July 20
9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Mesa and Mesa Hills intersection between Festival and Crown Point alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be working on traffic signal improvements.

Wednesday, July 22
9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Dyer Overlay Project

  • Dyer north and southbound between Sanders and South Angora Loop alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be performing demolition and placing concrete curbs, sidewalks, and driveways.

Martin Luther King Overlay Project

Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Martin Luther King north and southbound between US-54 and New Mexico State Line alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be striping.

Stan Roberts Overlay Project

Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Stan Roberts east and westbound between Martin Luther King and McCombs alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be striping.

McCombs Overlay Project

Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24
6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • McCombs north and southbound between New Mexico State Line and US-54 alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be milling, placing asphalt, and striping.

US-54 Overlay Project

Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24
7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • US-54 southbound between New Mexico State Line and McCombs outside lane closed until further notice.
  • Crews will be repairing flex base and placing steel traffic barrier.
  • US-54 north and southbound between New Mexico State Line and McCombs alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be milling and placing asphalt.

US-54 (Service roads) Overlay Project

Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24
Nightly, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Gateway North and South between Yandell and Altura alternate bridge closures at Yandell, Montana, Trowbridge, and Altura, follow detours.
  • Crews will be repairing, cleaning, and sealing amour and construction joints.

Guardrail Repair

Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Paisano southbound shoulder work from Doniphan to Executive.
  • I-10 westbound between Chelsea to Raynolds right lane closure with Raynolds exit ramp closed.
  • LP375 (Transmountain) westbound from Bomarc to McCombs left lane closure with Bomarc on- ramp closed.
  • US-54 northbound from Spur 601 to Fred Wilson right lane closure.
  • Crews will be working on guardrails.

Maintenance

Friday, July 17 through Friday, July 24
8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Woodrow Bean east and westbound between Bomarc and Railroad alternate lane closures.
  • Intersection at North/South Desert and Redd alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be milling.
  • Gateway South between Dyer and Ellerthorpe right lane closed.
  • Doniphan east and westbound between Spur 6 and Vinton right lane closed.
  • Crews will be working on shoulder.

 

District Wide Striping Project

Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24
Daily and Nightly, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and/or 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. (overnight/different time and locations) and continuous until further notice

  • 1-10 alternating eastbound and westbound lanes between Airway Boulevard and Schuster to include intersections, entrance and exit ramps

Closure is necessary for mobile striping operation

 

I-10 Connect

Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday July 23
Nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Southbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic between I-10 and US 62 (Paisano Drive).
  • DETOUR: Take Exit 21A (I-10 East/Van Horn) to Exit 23B (US 62/180/Chelsea Street/Paisano Drive), turn right on Paisano and follow the marked US 62 detour.
  • Crews will be placing girders for an overhead bridge.

Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday July 23
24-hour closure

  • Ramp E which connects Gateway Boulevard South to southbound US 54 at Yandell Drive will be closed.
  • DETOUR: Enter southbound US 54 at Pershing Drive.
  • Crews will be placing girders for an overhead bridge.

Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday July 23
Nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • SH 20 (Alameda Avenue) will be closed to all traffic at US 54.
  • DETOURS: Eastbound traffic will turn left on Loop 478 (Copia Street), right on Gateway Boulevard East and right on Raynolds Street. Westbound traffic will continue east on US 62 (Paisano Drive), turn right on Piedras Street and left on Alameda.
  • Crews will be placing girders for an overhead bridge.

Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21
Daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Gateway Boulevard East will be closed adjacent to Lincoln Park
  • DETOUR: Enter eastbound I-10 at Copia, take Exit 23A (Raynolds Street).
  • Crews will be placing girders for an overhead bridge.

Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday July 23

Nightly from 9pm to 5am

  • Southbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic between I-10 and US 62 (Paisano Drive).
  • DETOUR: Take Exit 21A (I-10 East/Van Horn) to Exit 23B (US 62/180/Chelsea Street/Paisano Drive), turn right on Paisano and follow the marked US 62 detour.
