Connect10, TxDOT work, detours for Week of March 28

Among the other on-going projects in and around El Paso, eastbound and westbound Interstate 10 will be reduced to a single lane several nights again next week as crews place overhead signs as part of the I-10 Connect Project.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid travel in the area during the lane closures if possible.

Transmountain Project

Sunday, March 28 through Thursday, April 1

Nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Loop 375 west and eastbound between US-54 south and Resler complete closure.
  • Crews will be shifting traffic for new detour, moving barriers, setting pavement markings, and installing signs.

Mesa Rehabilitation Project

Continuous until further notice.

  • Mesa southbound between Brentwood and Baltimore reduced to one lane.
  • Crews will be working on roadway rehabilitation.

Sunday, March 28

Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Mesa northbound between Brentwood and Festival complete closure.
  • Detour: Access for through traffic will be provided.
  • Crews will be milling and paving.

Monday, March 29

Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Mesa southbound between Brentwood and Baltimore complete closure.
  • Detour: Access for through traffic will be provided.
  • Crews will be milling and paving.

Wednesday, March 31

Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Mesa northbound between Castellano and Festival complete closure.
  • Detour: Access for through traffic will be provided.
  • Crews will be milling and paving

Bridge Maintenance Project

Sunday, March 28 through Thursday, April 1

Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • I-10 eastbound at Trowbridge complete closure.
  • All traffic directed to Trowbridge, Exit 24A.
  • Crews will be replacing armor joints.

US-54 Ramp Modification Project

Continuous until further notice.

  • Gateway North between Kenworthy and Golden Sands will be reduced to one lane.
  • Crews will be working on US-54 northbound exit ramp configuration.

Monday, March 29 through Thursday, April 1

Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • US-54 northbound between Martin Luther King Jr/Kenworthy exit and Sean Haggerty exit complete closure.
  • Traffic will exit at Martin Luther King Jr/Kenworthy and use Gateway North frontage road.
  • Crews will be placing portable concrete traffic barrier.

Guardrail Repair Project

Monday, March 29

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Spur 601 eastbound between Chaffee and Airport right lane closed.

Tuesday, March 30

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 westbound between Mesa Park and Sunland Park right lane closed.

Wednesday, March 31

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 eastbound at Airway on-ramp complete closure.

Maintenance

Monday, March 29 through Friday, April 2

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Spur 601 eastbound between Chaffee and Airport right lane closed.
  • Crews will be doing shoulder work.
  • Sun Bowl and Heisig intersection complete closure.
  • I-10 westbound at Schuster exit ramp closed.
  • Crews will be installing delineators and cleaning.
  • Desert North and Transmountain intersection alternate lane closures.
  • I-10 east and westbound between Thorn and Sunland Park alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be cleaning.

Loop 375 Widening Project

Monday, March 29 through Tuesday, March 30

Daily, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

  • Loop 375 northbound closure of Bob Hope Drive Exit ramp

Crews will be working on High Mast illumination infrastructure

Monday, March 29 through Friday, April 2

Daily, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

  • N Americas Avenue (frontage road) southbound right lane closure between Gateway Boulevard East and North Loop Drive
  • N Americas Avenue (frontage road) northbound right lane closure between North Loop Drive and Gateway Boulevard East
  • Joe Battle Boulevard (frontage road) southbound right lane closure between Pellicano Drive to Bob Hope Drive
  • Joe Battle Boulevard (frontage road) northbound right lane closure between Rojas Drive to Pellicano Drive

Montana Frontage Road Project

Nightly, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (overnight)

  • Montana Avenue eastbound multiple left lane closures between Lee Trevino Drive to Global Reach
  • Montana Avenue

Crews will be placing portable concrete traffic barrier.

Van Horn I-10 Cable Barrier Project (Culberson County)

Monday, March 29 – Wednesday, March 31

  • Lane and shoulder closure I 10 eastbound from mile marker 138 to 139.

Crews will be blading and drilling holes for anchors and placing concrete for mow strip.

Monday, March 29 – Friday, April 9

  • Shoulder work on I-10 eastbound from mile marker 152 to 156.

Crews will be blading and drilling holes for anchors and placing concrete for mow strip.

I-10 Connect

Sunday, March 28, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Eastbound I-10 will be reduced to a single lane between Raynolds Street and US 62/180 (Paisano Drive).

Crews will be conducting sign work.

Monday, March 29, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and

Wednesday, March 31, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Westbound I-10 will be reduced to a single lane between US 62/180 (Paisano Drive) and Raynolds Street.

Crews will be conducting sign work.

Tuesday, March 30

  • Westbound I-10 will be reduced to a single lane between Trowbridge Drive and Raynolds Street.
  • The on ramp from Gateway Boulevard West to westbound I-10 at Paisano Drive will be closed to all traffic.

Crews will be conducting sign work.

Sunday, March 28, from 9pm to 5am

  • Eastbound I-10 will be reduced to a single lane between Raynolds Street and US 62/180 (Paisano Drive).

Crews will be conducting sign work.

Monday, March 29, from 9pm to 5am, and Wednesday, March 31, from 9pm to 5am

  • Westbound I-10 will be reduced to a single lane between US 62/180 (Paisano Drive) and Raynolds Street.

Tuesday, March 30

  • Westbound I-10 will be reduced to a single lane between Trowbridge Drive and Raynolds Street.
  • The on ramp from Gateway Boulevard West to westbound I-10 at Paisano Drive will be closed to all traffic.

Crews will be conducting sign work.

On-Going Closures Will Continue Without Interruption

  • Ramp H which connects eastbound I-10 to US 54 and Juárez remains closed until further notice.
  • Interstate 110, the short freeway spur leading to and from the Bridge of the Americas, remains closed to northbound traffic until further notice.
  • US 62 (Paisano Drive) remains closed to traffic in both directions between San Marcial Street and Gateway Boulevard South.
  • Gateway Boulevard East remains closed to thru traffic between Loop 478 (Copia Street) and Marr Street.
  • The ramp from southbound US 54 to US 62 (Paisano Drive) remains closed until further notice.
  • Both turnarounds under US 54 at US 62 (Paisano Drive) remains closed until further notice.
  • Intermittent closures on Durazno Avenue, Rosa Avenue and Uva Street.
  • Intermittent lane closures on Gateway Boulevard East between Piedras Street and US 62/180 (Paisano Drive).
  • Intermittent lane closures on Gateway Boulevard West between Boone Street and Palm Street.

Onramp and offramp closures may begin up to one hour earlier than stated times. All information is subject to change based upon weather and field conditions.
