Coronado Marine Corps JROTC competes at Nationals

The Coronado High School Marine Corps JROTC competed at the Raider National Championships in Georgia last weekend, placing in three events.

The competition covered MCJROTC Region 5, which includes schools from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas.

Coronado is the only school in El Paso to have a full-fledged U.S. Marine Corps JROTC program, starting first as a club two years ago.

The T-Birds competed in team events, such as rope bridge, gauntlet and physical team test, placing in the following events:

2nd place – 5K Run
8th place – Gauntlet Event
9th place – Physical Team Test
