The City of El Paso ann0unced that they will host an in-person public hearing on the proposed tax rate and a resolution to adopt the Fiscal Year 2022 Budget this week, and residents are invited to share their views.

As part of the budget approval process, the vote on the proposed tax rate must take place at a public hearing in a publicly owned building or a suitable publicly owned building, per Texas Tax Code Sec. 26.06(e).

Officials say the public may attend in person- at 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 24, at City Hall, 300 North Campbell  – or virtually, via the methods listed below.

“The City provides two-way communication for members of the public to communicate via teleconference with the Council during the public hearing…” officials shared.

“Due to the ongoing pandemic the public is strongly encouraged to participate in the meeting virtually…however, members of the public who wish to attend in person must wear a face covering and follow all health protocols.”
