El Paso Coyotes to Kick Off Second Season in Pro Arena Soccer

The frenetic, fast-paced game of arena soccer is set to kick into high gear across the nation and in El Paso as the Coyotes prepare to dive into their second season in the Major Arena Soccer League.

The El Paso Coyotes, under the helm of coach Jose Luis Treviño, will get underway at home at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, against the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas at the El Paso County Coliseum, 4100 East Paisano.

The fourth season for the exciting MASL will launch Friday, Oct. 27, with a match between the Tacoma Stars and the Milwaukee Wave, the first of 176 regular season games in the league from October to March.

The MASL was formed in 2014 by teams from the Professional Arena Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. The MASL represents the highest level of professional arena soccer in the world.

In the MASL, teams are split into four divisions in two conferences – eight in the Western Conference and eight in the Eastern Conference.

The top two teams in each division qualify for the postseason.

The divisions are:

• Southwest Division: El Paso Coyotes, Rio Grande Valley Barracudas, Monterrey Flash and Soles de Sonora

• Pacific Division: Ontario Fury, San Diego Sockers, Tacoma Stars and Turlock Express

• Eastern Division: Syracuse Silver Knights, Harrisburg Heat, Baltimore Blast and Florida Tropics

• Central Division: Kansas City Comets, St. Louis Ambush, Cedar Rapids Rampage and Milwaukee Wave

This year’s schedule will feature 11 home games, and tickets cost $10, $15 and $25. All are available at the El Paso County Coliseum Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 and online.
