DACC Respiratory Therapy recognized with National Award

Doña Ana Community College’s (DACC) Respiratory Therapy program has received an award for its superior work within its program.

The program was notified by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) that it received the Distinguished RRT (registered respiratory therapist) Credentialing Success award.

“This award recognizes programs which value the registered respiratory therapist credential as a measure of the program’s success,” college officials added. “Programs which receive this award inspire their graduates to achieve their highest educational and professional aspirations.”

DACC Respiratory Therapy’s program met several criteria in order to receive this recognition:

  • having three or more years of positive outcomes data,
  • holding accreditation without a progress report,
  • having documented RRT credentialing success of 90% or above, and
  • meeting or exceeding established CoARC thresholds for high scores and retention in the Therapist Multiple Choice exam.

DACC officials add that the program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
