Doña Ana Community College (DACC) Nursing Program will accept students from the recently closed Vista College in Las Cruces.
Doña Ana Community College is currently seeking approval for a stand-alone Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program in order to transition LPN students from Vista College to DACC. DACC should receive approval from the New Mexico Board of Nursing by January 2022 with the program slated to begin in the fall of 2022.
DACC currently has a Career Ladder program which allows students to grow in their educational careers to become LPNs. A stand-alone LPN program will assist LPN students in continuing the education they may have started at another school.
In order to apply for the LPN program, students must apply to Doña Ana Community College by Clicking Here. Once admitted, students will need to submit transcripts which can be unofficial if applying from a closed campus. Students can then set up an appointment with an advisor to plan their track at DACC, and receive information regarding their courses and financial aid. It is encouraged that students contact the New Mexico Higher Education Department for a copy of official transcripts, as well as the Federal Financial Aid Department to begin the process of applying for loan forgiveness.
Doña Ana Community College’s Nursing Program, accredited by the New Mexico Board of Nursing, continues to work hard to provide our community with a steady stream of nurses as it has for more than 30 years. DACC maintains an outstanding curriculum with dedicated faculty. Graduates fill nursing positions within many acute and long-term healthcare facilities in our region.
