Del Valle High School earns all 7 Distinctions from TEA

The awards and kudos continue to roll in for Ysleta ISD’s Del Valle High School.

On Thursday morning, YISD Officials announced that Del Valle has earned all seven distinctions from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and will have a celebration in its honor on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the school gymnasium.

Ysleta Independent School District Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Xavier De La Torre along with several dignitaries will be in attendance for this event. The recognition highlights Del Valle High School’s commitment to excellence to the children from the Del Valle learning community.

The designation is awarded to campuses who achieved the following:

• Academic Achievement in English Language Arts / Reading

• Academic Achievement in Mathematics

• Academic Achievement in Science

• Academic Achievement in Social Studies

• Top 25 Percent Student Progress

• Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gaps

• Postsecondary Readiness

Del Valle High School is one of seven comprehensive high schools in the Ysleta Independent School District. Del Valle High School, which is located in El Paso, Texas, opened its doors to students in the fall of 1987.

Del Valle High School is recognized as a 2015 TEA Distinguished High School and a TEA Exemplary High School in 2010. Del Valle High School serves approximately 1,930 students with over 500 transfer students from the El Paso region using the Ysleta Independent School District’s open enrollment.
