Del Valle HS Fire Tech alumni graduate from EPFD Academy

Three former Del Valle High School students who were instrumental in helping  launch the DV Fire Tech Academy program at the school in 2016 – Arturo de  la Rosa and brother-sister duo Jackie Morales and George Morales – will  graduate from the El Paso Fire Department academy in a special ceremony  being held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at Ysleta ISD’s Central Office theater.

One other DV Fire Tech alumnus will also graduate from the academy at this  time.

The DV Fire Tech program began six years ago with five students, becoming  the first school in the region to have a working fire apparatus-pumper. Since  that time, DV Fire Tech students have regularly participated in competitions  that include TPSA, TXPSTA, and Skills USA, capturing several titles in  different events. To date, 15 DV Fire Tech students have gone on to attend  the El Paso Community College Fire Academy Program.
