Officials with the El Paso Downtown Management District (DMD) announced Thursday the release of their annual Downtown survey.
“Throughout the pandemic, the DMD worked to limit the impact on our businesses and to prepare for our recovery. Now, as we emerge from the pandemic, we want to ensure that our efforts remain aligned with our stakeholders and the El Paso community. With this public input survey, now more than ever, the DMD seeks to gauge public perceptions and behavior to better inform choices that will lead to increased Downtown recovery and vitality, said DMD Executive Director Joe Gudenrath.
“Armed with this information, we’ll be best suited to regain our momentum and welcome our entire community back Downtown.”
The downtown survey conducted 12 months ago, in July of 2020 focused in part on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the public’s outlook on the future.
This year, the survey seeks to solicit opinions and suggestions on the recovery, on how to best regain previous momentum, and how to improve and inform the planning of future DMD programs and services.
During the month of July, the DMD encourages downtown property owners, business owners, employees, visitors and the general public to take its online survey and share their opinion on the current conditions of Downtown, the performance of the DMD and future priorities for the area.
The information gained from this brief, unscientific survey will be used by the DMD to better measure its performance and provide guidance on what is important to its stakeholders and the entire El Paso community.
Past survey results have contributed to the creation of the DMD’s Downtown Ambassador Program, Special Events, and additional grant programs including the Downtown Mural Grant Program.
Officials say the survey can be accessed by visiting DowntownElPaso.com and clicking the survey slider or clicking on the top of the ABOUT section page. As an incentive, participants can register themselves into a drawing for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate/card to a downtown business within the DMD boundaries.
The online survey is available in English and Spanish. For those without online access hardcopies can be obtained at the DMD offices located at 201 East Main Suitee 107, or by calling (915) 400-2294.
Online survey available at DowntownElPaso.com throughout the month of July 2021. Results will be made public in early September.
