Rafael Ortega went 1-for-3 with a double to extend his hitting streak to 13 games, the second longest streak by a Chihuahua this year, behind only Jamie Romak’s 15-game streak.
Dodgers Outlast Chihuahuas 5-4 in 10 Innings
Jack Murphy’s two-out, two-strike RBI single in the top of the 10th inning helped the Oklahoma City Dodgers beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 5-4 Sunday night.
The Chihuahuas are now 0-2 in extra-inning games this season.
Trailing 4-1 in the fourth, the Chihuahuas scored twice on an RBI double by rehabbing Padres player Hector Sanchez and an RBI single by Dusty Coleman. A few innings later in the seventh, Coleman launched a high home run to left center field to tie the game.
Rocky Gale doubled with two outs in the bottom of the 10th but pinch runner Rafael Ortega was left on base representing the tying run. Oklahoma City pitching piled up 18 strikeouts in the game
