Christian Villanueva broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run, his second homer in as many nights. The Chihuahuas are now 23-10 after scoring the first run of a game.
Villanueva and Jose Rondon both fell one hit shy of a cycle, with Villanueva needing a single and Rondon needing a triple. They were both due up in the bottom of the ninth but the at-bats didn’t occur because of El Paso’s lead.
