Downs in Motion, a fund of the Paso del Norte Community Foundation, will host a Father’s Day Carnival fundraiser for local young adults with special needs and disabilities.
“It’s an amazing feeling to see our Downs in Motion students gain confidence and discover new strengths and talents through these courses,” said organization founder Edith Lujan.
“To continue offering these courses we have to raise funds, otherwise we can’t pay our instructors. We hope the community can join us and we thank all vendors in advance for their support.”
The event – set to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 26 at Montwood Church of Christ, 11845 Bob Mitchell Drive – will serve as a fundraiser for the nonprofit organization which provides young adults with special needs and disabilities the opportunity to partake in numerous activities, such as athletics, fine arts, martial arts, and music.
Organizers say entrance to the event is free and will include live entertainment, games, crafts, food trucks, and a car display.
Vendors can purchase information and game booths for $25. The cost for retail and food tables is $50.
