With an initial event weekend that exceeded expectations in July, the Downtown Management District (DMD) returns to host the second event, in a three-month series on Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29, 2021.
The free Downtown Fiesta de las Luces event on South El Paso Street (Paisano to Fourth Avenue), the historic gateway to our city, will be held on the last weekend (Saturday and Sunday) of August and September 2021.
The Downtown Fiesta de las Luces event features music, art vendors, food trucks and fun under the lights of the Paseo de Las Luces.
Sunday afternoons will celebrate the local culture with food trucks serving traditional Mexican fare, mariachis, folklorico, vendors, classic car Show ‘n’ Shine and family friendly activities.
The DMD event is designed to take advantage of the Paseo de las Luces project and attract the public to the area. In the Fall of 2018, the City of El Paso beautification project called the Paseo de las Luces was completed.
The art deco archways stretch down El Paso Street from the Paso del Norte international bridge to San Antonio Avenue. String lights illuminate the corridor at night with parklets strategically placed to compliment the eclectic mix of small businesses unique to the El Centro Shopping District.
The Downtown Fiesta de las Luces is free to the public and will be located between Paisano and Fourth Avenue on El Paso Street.
