As work nears completion on the El Paso Streetcar Project, motorists, pedestrian and cyclists should expect some overnight closures in Downtown El Paso next week, according to the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority.
These closures are necessary so crews can place updated striping on the pavement. The striping will include reconfiguration of southbound turn lanes on Oregon Street at Wyoming and Franklin.
These changes will minimize conflicts between automobiles and streetcars at those intersections.
Crews from Paso del Norte Trackworks will close Oregon Street between Wyoming Avenue and Franklin Street each night from 9pm to 5am between Monday, July 2, and Friday, July 6, 2018.
Additional lane restrictions will also be in place at those times on Oregon Street between Montana Avenue and Wyoming Avenue and on Franklin Avenue between Mesa Street and Stanton Street.
