‘Eat Local’ event set for tonight, supports El Paso’s local bars, restaurants

Homegrown El Paso will host a launch party to unveil its new Eat Local Homegrown Campaign tonight at the Wine Attitude, located at 6633 North Mesa, Suite 300. Evening festivities will include wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and an informative talk by guest speaker and wine connoisseur Ricardo Barraza.

Eat Local Homegrown is a new program established by native El Pasoan George Saenz who serves as a Board Member for Home Grown El Paso and is also the President of Cielo Vista Insurance. Mr. Saenz created this new initiative in support of promoting El Paso’s amazing local restaurant and bar scene that creates the city’s unique atmosphere and cultural experience.

“With all the increasing restaurant franchises and chains I noticed coming to El Paso—which I know help boost economic growth and add variety—I just saw a real need to create a unified platform and voice for our local restaurant and bar owners who really help define our local culture, identity, and experience. This experience is what we need to capitalize on to ensure we keep this industry alive and thriving, not only to folks visiting our beautify city but with the local community as well,” noted George Saenz.

Part of the Eat Local Homegrown Campaign that will be unveiled includes partnering with El Paso’s hotel/motel establishments to ensure awareness and promotion of the diverse local restaurants and bars unique to El Paso, in addition to other strategies to motivate the El Paso community and its entrepreneurs about the larger value of supporting local businesses.
