Throughout its 63+ year existence, Economy Wholesale Grocers has held a steadfast commitment to its customers and the areas that the grocer serves.
This dedication continues Sunday, as it hosts the Penrose Neighborhood Association at its Zaragoza store in El Paso’s Lower Valley.
The weekend event will feature area car clubs showcasing a variety of customized vehicles by their owners, local food trucks, face painting for kids and a raffle for opportunities to win various prizes, including themed gift baskets filled with Economy products.
“As a local and homegrown establishment, we feel it’s important to show our customers and community the loyalty they’ve provided Economy Wholesale Grocers over the years. Hosting events where area residents can come together as a community and have a fun time is just one of the ways we make this happen,” said Paul Dipp, President of Economy Wholesale Grocers.
Economy will also present local non-profit organizations with monetary donations to help with their ongoing efforts. These groups include the Tigua VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 8782, the
San Elizario Genealogy and Historical Society plus the Child Crisis Center of El Paso.
The collaborative effort is being led by Penrose Neighborhood Association President Lucilla Najera and Rick Flores, advocate for The Val Verde Community & Friends.
