 El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Week Celebrations Set

El Paso’s lone run came on a solo home run by Brett Nicholas in the top of the eighth inning, his 11th home run of the season.

El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Week Celebrations Set

To celebrate this year’s El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame inductees, the hall will be hosting several events around the city this week.

There will be five inductees into this year’s 30th Annual El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Class. The five inductees are Jesse Munoz, John Cazares, Luis Gonzalez, Lonnie Dugger, and Rene Quinones.

Below is the schedule of events

Tuesday, August 8th Proclamation Day at City Hall. Inductees will be present to receive the Proclamation designating the week of August 7th El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Week. This event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM, prior to the City Council meeting.

Thursday, August 10th Meet and Greet at the Wyndham El Paso Airport Hotel at 5:30 PM. Come and meet and greet the new inductees.

Friday, August 11Th Chihuahua Night, Southwest University Field. The new inductees will be throwing out the first pitch during pre-game ceremonies. Game time is 7:00 PM. A Family Night is scheduled at the stadium Big-Dog House for all El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame members along with new inductees, families, and friends. Cost is $32.00 which includes entrance and all you can eat dinner.

Saturday, August 12th Golf Tourney at Painted Dunes. Registration is 8:00 AM with Tee Times beginning at 9:00 AM. We have approximately 45 teams participating. The tournament will feature the opportunity to win a new car from Travis Crawford and/ or a Harley Motorcycle from Barnett Harley-Davidson on 2 par-3 holes. Entrance fee is $100 per person or $300 per team. Price includes breakfast sandwiches, goody bags, prizes, awards, and Fajita Dinner at the conclusion of tourney.

Sunday, August 13th Induction Banquet Night – Cocktails 4:30 PM Lobby; Dinner/Program 5:30 PM at Wyndham El Paso Airport Hotel Conference Center Banquet Hall.

In addition, six El Paso teams who went to the Texas High School Final 4 State Championship Tournaments will also be honored: 1949 Bowie, 1965 Austin, 1983 Burges, 1992 Coronado, 2000 Riverside, & 2009 Socorro.
