El Paso Community College Honors Elite Scholars

The El Paso Community College (EPCC) National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) held its 2017 Induction Ceremony at the EPCC Administrative Services Center Auditorium earlier this week.

The NSCS at EPCC is an honors organization that recognizes and elevates high achievers.

“The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is an organization that not only recognizes the accomplishments of high achievers who are beginning college, but also engages them through leadership, service and scholarship opportunities,” Rose Lopez, EPCC NSCS Advisor

said. “The intent is to make their college experience rewarding and preparing them for a bright future.”

The 2017 class has 115 members and the NSCS at EPCC membership numbers over 500 students. Membership is by invitation only and is offered to freshman and sophomore students who carry a 3.4 grade point average or higher.

The NSCS has active chapters at more than 300 colleges and universities across the country. NSCS’ goal is to honor, inspire and engage.

Chapters are involved in service to their individual campuses and communities, as well as in scholastic and social activities.
