This week, the Leadership El Paso Class 42 (LEP 42) will be hosting its second blood drive event, and the group is encouraging the community to come out and donate blood.
“Currently, El Paso is facing a severe blood shortage, and every donation makes a big difference,” LEP 42 officials shared via a news release. “The first blood drive, held on Sunday, June 14 for World Blood Donor Day, saw a donation of 14 units in just one morning.”
Each year, as part of their curriculum, the Chamber’s Leadership class develops a project to support the community and create positive change.
“This year, LEP 42 has partnered with Operation HOPE to raise funds for groceries for those affected by the pandemic,” group officials said. “In addition, LEP 42 will be organizing blood drives to help meet the increased need in the community.”
The campaign will last 42 days and is seeking assistance and involvement from individuals and organizations across the city.
