El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation’s first ever telethon raises $100k+

Last week, El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation partnered with KTSM News Channel 9 for its first ever ‘Share the Love and Joy Telethon;’ on Monday, officials announced the tally from the hour long telethon sponsored by Oscar Leeser’s Hyundai of El Paso.

“The giving spirit of El Paso came out in full force and we were beyond blessed to surpass our goal of $100,000. We know that 2020 has been a hard year for so many, but you helped make a difference by sharing the love and joy this holiday season in our first ever Share the Love and Joy Telethon,” Cindy Stout, CEO and president of El Paso Children’s Hospital said.

The funds raised from the telethon will support programs, services, and equipment purchases that will make a positive impact on the pediatric population of El Paso.

“The El Paso Children’s Hospital is grateful to KTSM and staff for their dedication and commitment to help showcase our El Paso Children’s Hospital and show our community the miracles that happen there every day. We are grateful to viewers for sharing the love and joy of the holiday season with our littlest patients during this most challenging year. We look forward to your support in 2021,” said Estela Casas, Executive Director for El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Throughout the telethon, patients shared heart-warming stories of health and healing at El Paso Children’s Hospital and spotlighted the physicians and staff that make miracles happen every single day.

“2020 has been a year of many firsts and our Share the Love and Joy telethon was one of the new ways of building community connections to continue to bring funds to the only not-for-profit children’s hospital in a 350 mile radius,” added Stout.
