El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation to host 5th Annual St. Baldrick’s Head Shaving

El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation, in conjunction with Southwest University, will be hosting the fifth annual St. Baldrick’s Head Shaving Event.

Numerous community members will come together to shave their heads while raising money for life-saving childhood cancer research.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation coordinates head shaving events throughout the country to bring communities together to raise awareness around pediatric cancer.  El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation is encouraging community members to brave the shave, register and help raise money for pediatric cancer research.

El Paso Children’s Hospital is home to the Southwest University Pediatric Blood and Cancer Center which has been a Children’s Oncology Group (COG) designated facility since 2014.

For over four years now, El Paso Children’s Hospital has received funding from the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund critical pediatric cancer research.

St. Baldrick’s is on a mission to help give kids a lifetime by funding the best childhood cancer research, wherever it takes place.  Donations raised at events like these have made it possible for El Paso Children’s Hospital to receive $196,400 since 2018.

The public is invited to make a difference for kids with cancer by participating in the 5th Annual Head Shaving to be hosted on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Southwest University (6500 Montana) from 11am to 1pm.

Registration for the event can be found online

All individuals who raise over $50 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation will receive a complimentary shirt and pin to recognize and celebrate their participation in this very important event.
