El Paso Community College Tejanas softball team holding open tryouts

The El Paso Community College (EPCC) Athletics Department is holding open tryouts to be members of the women’s softball team for the upcoming academic year.

“EPCC is an academic institution first and foremost,” Felix Hinojosa, Director of Athletics, said. “Each prospective team member will be looked upon as a leader and to work together with each other to excel.”

There is no charge for the tryouts, which are set for June 4 and 5; infielders tryout on Tuesday, pitchers and catchers on Wednesday.

All athletes must bring their own equipment and a copy of a physical exam performed in the last twelve months. There are no exceptions. Anyone who has attended another National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) school must have a completed release and/or transfer waiver.

Tejanas’ softball tryouts will take place at the EPCC Valle Verde Campus Softball Field, 919 Hunter.

Check in is at 4:45 p.m. and the tryout starts at 5:00 p.m. for both days.   Individuals may only attend one tryout.

Contact Coach Gutierrez at kgutier9@epcc.edu or (915) 831-2367 for more information.
