El Paso County Celebrates and Honors David Garcia as the County’s 2021-2022 Veteran of the Year
Yesterday, November 9, 2021, El Paso County celebrated and honored, Chief Warrant Officer (CW2) Retired David Garcia, with the Disabled American Veterans service organization, as El Paso County’s 2021-2022 Veteran of the Year!
El Paso County is proud of our veteran service organizations and chapters, who after serving their country, continue to go above and beyond to give back to El Paso. Since the program first began in 2019, a Veteran of the Year has been selected annually by the County’s Veteran Advisory Board in honor of their military service, and for the work they have done to make a positive impact throughout the County. Our veterans are a dynamic part of our region as they continue to lead the way through volunteering, voting, community engagement, and are always there to lend a helping hand to some of our most vulnerable residents.
“The sense of pride we have for our veterans is unlike any other community,” said County Judge Ricardo Samaniego. “The Veterans Wall of Honor stands as a symbol of unity as we continue to work together to remain a Veteran Ready County. It is because of our outstanding veteran service organizations that El Paso was recently ranked as the top 10 best places for veterans to live.”
El Paso County is also happy to announce our partnership with the Oscar Arrieta Allstate Agency and UTEP as Mr. Garcia will be given the Hometown Hero Award during UTEP’s Football Game on November 20th! Please join us in honoring Mr. Garcia!
