El Paso County Judge honored with Albert Armendariz Sr. Award from El Paso Bar Association

County Judge Ricardo Samaniego was honored Saturday by the El Paso Bar Association and Board of Directors with the Albert Armendariz Sr. Award at the El Paso Bar Association’s Law Day Dinner and Awards Presentation.

“I have made it my mission to follow this model during my time as County Judge as we navigated our way through a pandemic,” said Judge Samaniego.

“I am very honored to receive this award on behalf of all our community leaders, healthcare workers, and first responders who went above and beyond during the pandemic. Doing the right thing for the community will always be my priority.”

Federal Judge Albert Armendariz once said the following, “I’ve always felt that the United States of America will never be defeated from outside, if it ever falls, it’ll be from within.” Federal Judge Albert Armendariz dedicated his life to serving the most vulnerable in our community.

“It is with great honor that the El Paso Bar Association presents El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego with the Albert Armendariz, Sr. Award in recognition of his courageous commitment to the El Paso community during the Covid-19 crisis, as well as for his vision for a healthier and prosperous El Paso community,” Janet Monteros, President of the El Paso Bar Association shared
El Paso County also recognized the Honorable Judge Linda Chew, who received the Honorable Sam Paxson Outstanding Jurist Award, and Assistant County Attorney Jennifer Vandenbosch who will received the Fred J. Morton Outstanding Government Attorney Award.
