El Paso County looking for nominations for Veteran of the Year

El Paso County is asking for help from residents to nominate a veteran to be the next Veteran of the Year.

“Even after serving their Country, many continue to go above and beyond to lend a helping hand to those in our community who need it the most,” county officials shared.

“If you are a member of a veteran organization here in El Paso, please submit an application for someone receive the honor.”

The chosen nominee will then be celebrated and honored in Commissioners Court and will be given the award during a very special ceremony the week of Veterans Day.

“We will not let this pandemic hold us back from recognizing and honoring our community’s heroes,” organizers added.

Officials say the winner will also be recognized on the Wall of Honor located in the El Paso County Courthouse.

GUIDELINES:
✓ Must be a current resident of El Paso County.
✓ Must have served honorably in one of the U.S. Armed Forces.
✓ Must be a member of a veteran organization/district and be selected by the organization’s board to submit an application.
