El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies Donate Books to Red Sands Students

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the East Montana Patrol Station presented scores of books to the 3rd graders at Red Sands Elementary on Monday, September 12th, 2016.

Three hundred 3rd-grade National Geographic Reading Books were donated anonymously and deputies coordinated with Red Sands Elementary to present the books to the students.

Along with the presentation deputies challenged the entire 3rd-grade class to pass the reading portion of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STARR) test.

The East Montana Patrol station has given the students an pizza party incentive upon completion of the STARR test.

On Friday, September 16th, Sheriff’s Office deputies will also be presenting a donation to the students at Montana Vista Elementary.
