El Paso County Sheriff’s Foundation, Community Services deliver care packages to frontline workers

On, Thursday, members of the Sheriff’s Office Foundation, the Sheriff’s Office Community Services Section, and Precinct 1 Commissioner Carlos Leon delivered 125 care packages to front line heroes.

The packages were distributed to nurses at the ICU COVID Unit and Labor Delivery Unit at The Hospitals of Providence Sierra East Campus.

Commissioner Leon made a contribution to the Sheriff’s Office Foundation for the care packages being delivered, with each nurse care package containing a T-shirt, hand sanitizer, lip balm, body wipes, coffee, and other miscellaneous items.

“A little something to show these nurses who are working tirelessly during this pandemic that they are appreciated, loved and supported by the El Paso Community,” organizers shared.  “Commissioner Leon also provided additional care packages to be distributed to the employees from the environmental services unit.”

The coffee included in the care packages was provided by our community partners at Starbucks.  In addition to the nurse care package delivery, Chick-fil-A provided lunch.

For those wishing to help the cause, officials say that nurse care packages are still available to order; to purchase a Nurse care package for a friend or loved one, please email Public Affairs Director Chris Acosta at [email protected] with your shirt size.
