The El Paso Coyotes arena soccer team is back on the winning track.
After dropping five straight games, the Coyotes broke free from their losing streak in dominant fashion by taking down the Turlock Express 13-4 in a Major Arena Soccer League match Friday night.
El Paso was guided by a slew of Coyotes, all led by midfielder Hugo Puentes and forward David Salas with three goals each. Puentes now has 20 goals on the season and is among the top scorers in the league. The Express received goals from defenders Arturo Pulido, Adrian Pulido and Luis Martinez, and midfielder Matthew Germain.
El Paso, now 6-7, remains in third place in the Southwest Division, just one game behind the Soles de Sonora at 7-6. The undefeated Monterrey Flash still sit atop the division at 12-0. Turlock, meanwhile, falls to 2-13 and is in last place in the Pacific Division.
