The El Paso Coyotes are seeking their second win of the young season as they return home to take on the Turlock Express in a Major Arena Soccer League match.
The Coyotes won their first game of the season January 4 when they upset the Tacoma Stars, 9-7, at home.
Defender Diego Salas led the team to victory with two goals and three assists, earning him a spot on the MASL Team of the Week.
El Paso is 1-4 in the Southwest Division under new coach Jesus Enriquez. Turlock is 0-7 and in last place in the Pacific Division. This is the Coyotes third season in the MASL.
The MASL, formed in 2014 by teams from the Professional Arena Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League, represents the highest level of professional arena soccer in the world. Teams are divided into four divisions — Southwest, Pacific, Eastern and South Central.
The Coyotes compete in the Southwest Division, which includes the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas, Monterrey Flash and Dallas Sidekicks. The top two teams from each division qualify for the playoffs.
The game gets underway at 7:15 p.m. Friday, January 11, at the El Paso County Coliseum (4100 East Paisano.) Tickets are $12 for general admission and $18 for box seats, and for this match up, fans can buy one ticket and get one free.
