El Paso Coyotes play final soccer game of season at Coliseum Friday night

After a grueling 23-game schedule, the El Paso Coyotes will return home for their 24th and final Major Arena Soccer League match of the season at the El Paso County Coliseum.

The Coyotes will take on the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas at 7:15 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Coliseum, located at 4100 East Paisano.

El Paso, 3-20 and in last place in the Southwest Division, is seeking to close out the season by snapping its 14-game losing streak with a final win at home.

The Coyotes, who have been eliminated from the playoffs, are coming off an 8-4 loss to the Dallas Sidekicks on March 31. The 14-8 Barracudas, who are in second place in the same division behind 18-4 Monterrey Flash, already clinched a spot in the playoffs.

The Barracudas, who lost 6-5 to the San Diego Sockers last week, have beaten the Coyotes in three meetings this season.

Meanwhile, the Juárez Cuervos, the Coyotes’ newly created developmental team, made it to the MASL 2 championship game against the San Diego Sockers 2 on March 30 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif., losing 1-0.

Juárez midfielder Emmanuel Mendoza was named to the All-MASL 2 Second Team. This is the team’s first season in the league.

Tickets cost $12 for general admission and $18 for box seats, and fans can buy one ticket and get one free. They are available at the Coliseum Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 and online.
