Beginning at midnight Thursday, the El Paso Fire Department will be accepting applications for Public Safety Communicator Trainees.
Public Safety Communicators process emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and dispatch, monitor and coordinate activities of emergency personnel (police, fire and medical) using a multi-channel radio system and a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.
The ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and two years of general work experience, with at least one year with public contact. Upon completion of the training period, trainees will be promoted to Public Safety Communicator, starting at $34,537 annually.
