El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce heads to Washington Next Week

The El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will be in Washington DC the week of March 13th-17th, 2017 along with a delegation of local Chamber business members and members of the El Paso 8(a) & Government Contractors Association.

The trip is part of the Hispanic Chamber’s annual “HC to DC” legislative marketing trip. HC to DC coincides with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Annual Legislative Summit.

“Now more than ever, it is important that Congress be aware of the issues that are impacting our border businesses. It is of high importance that we voice our concerns to our legislative leaders and also represent our business community,” said Cindy Ramos-Davidson, CEO of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Each spring, the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce meets with the national leading voices behind small business and entrepreneurship as part of their annual legislative trip. During the 2017 “HC to DC” trip, the local delegation will meet with various national leaders to discuss issues pertaining to small business including immigration reform, education, procurement, healthcare, tax reform, SBA budget enhancement, access to capital and business commerce among other issues.

“Our participation during this essential time will strengthen our voice and representation in regards to the nation’s future and will make sure our issues are near the top of the national business agenda,” added Ramos- Davidson.

In addition to assembling at our nation’s capital and advocating for the business needs of our borderland community, members will have the incomparable opportunity to meet and engage with Congressional leaders to discuss issues relating to our community and evaluate their impact on El Paso small businesses.

The legislative summit provides the leading platform for Hispanic business owners, chamber leaders and corporate executives to advocate for the important matters affecting the Hispanic business agenda.

Officials with the chamber added, “Accordingly, the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will travel to Washington DC to ensure that the national agenda includes the key business issues from our borderland region.
