El Paso International Airport (EPIA) has earned the 2019 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for Best Airport by Size and Region.
The award, given to facilities with between 2 to 5 million passengers per year in North America, is the airport’s fourth award since commencing participation in the ASQ survey program in 2016.
“This award is extremely important to us, as it is direct feedback from our passengers,” said Monica Lombraña, A.A.E., Chief Operations and Transportation Officer. “I take great pride in the work that our staff, terminal partners and concessionaires do year-round to provide award-winning, exceptional customer service.”
The survey is the only global airport survey based on measuring passengers’ satisfaction at the airport on their day of travel. The program measures 34 key performance indicators including: Access, Check-in, Security, Wayfinding, Food & Beverage, Airport Facilities and Overall Satisfaction. ASQ delivers 640,000 individual surveys per year in 47 languages across 91 countries.
“The Airport is dedicated to meeting our City’s goal to cultivate an environment conducive to strong, sustainable economic development by working to grow the core business of air transportation and expanding Airport development,” airport officials added.
In 2019, the Airport surpassed 3.5 million passengers. Since 2015, three new airlines began service and airlines at EPIA have added new non-stop destinations such as Orlando, San Diego and Seattle.
In February, El Paso City Council approved $110 million over the next five years for additional improvements to ensure the facility is maintained to provide a pleasant travelling experience for passengers.
